Our journey: from wheels to roots
At Shaconage Homestead, our story is one of transformation – from the open road to establishing deep roots. We're dedicated to sharing our journey as we build our homestead apiary, diligently tending to our hives, cultivating nourishing food, and embracing the simple yet profound lessons of beekeeping, self-sufficiency, and a connected life. Join us as we grow, learn, and share the sweet rewards of this fulfilling path.

The open road called
For years, we were full-time RVers and work-campers, crisscrossing the country in our rig. We explored national parks, chased adventures, and picked up short-term gigs, living a life of constant discovery. Then came COVID, forcing us off the road, and an unexpected knee surgery for Jerry meant staying put for a while. It was during this time that a new passion began to blossom, thanks to the Heroes to Hives program.

The sweet reward
The most exciting and anticipated part of our year comes at the end of the honey flow. Here, nestled locally in the Great Smoky Mountains of Eastern Tennessee, we patiently wait for the moment to harvest our delicious wildflower honey. It's 100% pure, local honey, a testament to our bees' hard work and the abundant natural flora around us. Each jar encapsulates the essence of our homestead and the pure taste of nature.
Taste the harvest
When the honey flow ends, usually mid to late July, it's time to extract and bottle our pure local honey for sale. We invite you to experience the authentic taste of the Great Smoky Mountains. Send us an email at Shaconage Honey. if you would like to purchase 100% pure local honey from our Shaconage Homestead in Eastern Tennessee.
